Getting the right stock image for your graphics is crucial.
Making sure you can use them legally is a must as well.
You don’t want someone coming after you for copyright further down the line.
This will cost you money as they sue you for using their image without permission.
I get messages from people this has happened to, everytime I talk about this.
I use FREE stock image websites that allow me to publish using a Creative Commons licence.
This means –
A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of several public copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted “work”. A CC license is used when an author wants to give other people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that they (the author) have created.
My favourite 3 FREE stock image sites that use the creative commons licence are:-
1. www.pexels.com has lots of unusual and unique images that are great for creating thumb stoppers to use in our social media.
2. www.pixabay.com over 1.3 MILLION images on this website alone, all waiting on you to use them
3. www.unsplash.com over half a million images gifted by photographers!
There are a tonne of other stock image websites.
My Design Academy members get a pdf outlining the best ones when they join.
The 3 websites above should be enough to get you started tho.
